If we are talking about a multilayer board, the technology becomes more complicated. At the same time, different types of wood are glued together. Laying parquet: preparation

At the first stage, it is necessary to level the rough surface. Its quality will directly affect the life of the flooring.
If the base is defective, the parquet may crack, the ridges will break, and the floor will creak. This will lead to the need for additional grinding, which will thin the working material. In order to avoid such consequences, light parquet must be laid on a properly leveled surface. To do this, you can use the technique in which the floor is poured with a screed. Level differences within 2 cm can be removed by grinding the concrete floor. Subsequently, a cement-sand screed or a polymer leveling mortar can be poured onto such a surface.
Cement-sand screed must be left for 4 weeks before laying parquet. If you plan to glue the boards to a primed screed, then it must be poured using a cement mixture of the M-150 brand. You can apply the brand M-300. These compositions will be characterized by high compressive strength, and the adhesive must be elastic. If you plan to lay moisture-resistant plywood on top, then you do not need to wait for complete curing. 28 days will be enough.
Recommendations for parquet installation
Parquet, the price of which may vary depending on the quality of the wood and the manufacturer, can be laid, for example, with herringbone or mosaic modules. If you decide to resort to corner laying, you need to start work from the center row. In the center of the room from wall to wall, the master should pull the cord along which you will navigate. Next, two parquet planks are used, which are interconnected by a herringbone. Glue should be applied to the spike and groove, as well as the ends. The composition needs to process the plywood base, while starting from the far wall. Use of a notched trowel is recommended.
Planks are pressed against the surface so that excess glue comes out. If additional mechanical fastening in the form of self-tapping screws or nails is used, they must be screwed into the groove at an angle of 45°. After the surface has been smeared to the width of the bar, you can attach it by inserting it into the end and longitudinal grooves of the previous element. You can seal the connection of the strips with a rubber mallet.
Piece parquet can be laid using the following technology. First, charges are mounted like a beacon Christmas tree, on the right and left. After that comes a row to the left of the Christmas tree, then to the right. According to this principle, it is necessary to act, gradually expanding the laying area. Near the walls, the place should be filled with cut strips, installing wedges to fill the gap of 3 mm.
Floor restoration
If you need to restore heavily trampled, neglected and worn parquet,the surface of which has wavy depressions and cracks, you can do without replacing the coating, but in this case it is better to entrust the restoration to professionals. Restoration of the parquet may also be necessary if it is swollen after flooding. Experts advise re-laying such a floor, and after drying, even old parquets can be used, however, the whole complex of sanding and varnishing works will be required.
If the boards have darkened and the wood is loose, a complete replacement of the parquet will be required. In this case, it is necessary to dry the room and prepare the base surface. Sometimes ordinary cosmetic putty can also save. To do this, you should purchase a restoration paste of the appropriate shade. However, you can prepare the mixture yourself if you have several old parquet in stock. To do this, they are sawn, and the chips are added to the parquet varnish until the consistency of sour cream is obtained. You can add sawdust filler to the varnish in a ratio of 4 to 1.
Restoration of parquet can be carried out using manual scraping technology, for this you should purchase a tool of the same name. You can make a cycle yourself, using a planer and a piece of iron for this. In the end, you should get something like a machine or hand scraper.
