A heating boiler is a complex device that performs the function of heating a room. Such a device is in every private house. Boilers differ in their technical parameters and cost. Today, solid fuel and electric boilers can be distinguished. We will consider their advantages and disadvantages in this article.
Solid fuel boiler
This device is a container for supplying coal or firewood, a furnace, an ash pan and, of course, a chimney. Its principle of operation is very similar to an old wood-burning stove. Modern coal-fired heating devices take up almost as much space as electric ones. Their main difference is the main structure, which consists of cast iron or steel. Such furnaces are quite durable and reliable (with proper operation). Steel devices, unlike cast iron ones, are not afraid of sudden changes in temperature, and, accordingly, do not burst. They store and release thermal energy well.
Pros andcons
The advantages of this device include low fuel costs, availability of equipment in stores, durability and autonomy - its operation does not depend on the supply of gas or electricity.
Like any appliance, a wood-fired heating boiler has its drawbacks. First of all, they should include the fact that the fuel for it will take up a lot of space in the yard.
So before installing such equipment, you should make room for coal or firewood. In addition, they should be prepared in advance for the winter and preferably in large quantities (order a whole dump truck). It should not be forgotten that the device should be cleaned regularly (1-2 times a month) from soot accumulated from burnt firewood. Otherwise, the smoke will not go through the chimney, but will remain inside the firebox. And if the stove runs on coal, then in this case there is a risk of carbon monoxide, which is deadly to human he alth. Unlike an electric boiler, firewood should be regularly added to a solid fuel heating boiler. Usually this interval is one and a half hours (it all depends on the volume and capacity of the firebox).
Electric heating boiler
Such a device performs the same functions as a solid fuel, only it works on electricity. It has many pros and few cons.
Benefits
Such equipment has high performance, does not require additional maintenance.
The installation costs are very low, moreover, such a stove does not have an open fire, unlike a wood-burning one. Thus, the risk of a fire in the house is reduced to zero. It does not need to be cleaned regularly and firewood is added every hour - they turned it on for the night, and it works for itself. In addition, it works silently and does not require the installation of a chimney. Due to its small size, it can even be installed on a wall (the main thing is to make thermal insulation so that a fire does not occur). You can control the boiler using the buttons, turn it on and off at any time.
Perhaps the only negative is the dependence on the supply of electricity. If the light is off, alas, the heating boiler will not work.
