Lice and fleas are parasitic insects that not only suck blood, but are also carriers of various infectious agents. It would seem, how can such small insects be dangerous to humans? But this is true, therefore, if you notice a flea or a louse on yourself, you should urgently take measures to destroy them.
Fleas are very rare in humans: as a rule, they jump from pets to try human blood as well. It should be noted that young fleas are black in color, and "experienced" bloodsuckers become brown. Fleas on a person move easily and jump quite well. So they could be anywhere in an instant.
Where can fleas come from in humans
Most often, fleas appear due to pets. They can also be brought by a person from the street or, say, from the basement of a high-rise building, where all kinds of things are stored, as well as cats, rats, and dogs huddle. Worth just a coupleminutes to go to a place where a flea can jump on you, and not even one.
Therefore, when you go outside from there, be sure to inspect your clothes for fleas. Remember: lice and fleas in humans are dangerous parasites that cause a lot of problems and discomfort, so the places where fleas live must be processed, and pets should be rid of these insects.
How to deal with fleas
Today, there are quite a lot of different "chemistry" with which you can once and for all get rid of these little bloodsuckers. Sprays, pet collars, drops, special shampoos are all very effective remedies to get rid of fleas quickly.
How to handle an apartment
If fleas were seen in a person, then the apartment must be processed immediately. It is carried out as follows:
- Vacuum clean all surfaces thoroughly to get rid of flea larvae.
- Take carpets outside and, if possible, wash with chemicals.
- Pillows, bedspreads should be taken outside, where they should be sprayed and dried.
- Wash things in hot water.
- Treat the apartment with insecticidal preparations. Do not forget about the respirator and gloves.
It should be noted that the apartment is treated very carefully: you need to spray the aerosol behind the furniture, into all the cracks, under the plinth. The windows must be closed. The treated room should be left for at least 2-3 hours, after which it should be thoroughly ventilated. It is undesirable to wash the treated surfaces within 3-4 days. If necessary, re-treatment should be carried out after 1-2 weeks, as new fleas will hatch from the eggs and cause discomfort as before.
So, if you notice a flea on yourself, then try to find the reason for its appearance in your home: treat your pets. In the event that a flea was accidentally brought from the street, do not worry, since it alone, most likely, will not take root. If it was decided to disinfect the premises, be sure to use gloves and a respirator.
