Who would not like to have smooth and neat paths on their suburban area. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to buy clinker bricks or paving slabs. A great alternative to this is a garden path mold. With your own hands, you can make absolutely any path: both straight and winding. Of course, the strength of this coating is lower, but today there are various additives for cement mortar, which significantly increase its quality.
Form for the garden path is sold in any hardware store. And due to the low cost and ease of use, these forms are increasingly used by summer residents. Moreover, their new types are fundamentally different from the old ones, in which the poured tiles had to be at least one and a half days. Today, you can cast on the spot and only one mold for the garden path is needed for smooth operation. With your own hands, you will equip the site in a matter of time and without much effort.
Before casting tiles, you need to prepare the base for the track, whichcan start from the entrance to the gate or to the house. And first you need to mark the site. Following your pattern, you need to drive in pegs at a distance of two meters along the entire length of the intended path.
And pull a thread or cord over them. On turns and bends, the pegs are driven in at a smaller distance from each other. If your path will be located in places with weak soil, you should make a preliminary excavation. Now you pour a layer of sand about 10 cm, then the same layer of rubble and on top another layer of sand 4 cm long, with which everything is leveled. Each layer is slightly moistened and well compacted. Of course, you can not make such a "cushion", but then your path will last much less, because it is very important for cement to have good drainage.
Mix sand with cement at the rate of 3 to 1, add water and almost get a solution that will fill the form for the garden path. With your hands, you will now knead it well.
The mass should be homogeneous, creamy, but at the same time freely fill the form. Be sure to add water-repellent additives and reinforcing fiber to the solution. The latter will give the track strength, and the additives will extend its service life. For decoration, various dyes are used. By the way, it turns out in an original way if you add decorative pebbles or even ordinary pebbles. Now moisten the base and determine the starting point. There the form for a garden path also keeps within. With your own hands, you fill it with the prepared solution, remove the excess from above with a wide spatula. For this, you can use a wooden rail. Then let the solution set for 15 minutes. It's time to carefully remove the mold, set it side by side and repeat the whole process. Of course, if you have more than one shape, then the track will be made much faster. By the way, in this way it is easy to make entire sites. For example, next to a bench in the garden or in front of a gazebo. And even if over time the track loses its shape somewhere, it is very easy to fix it. You just need to remove the damaged block at this place, install the form and fill it with a new solution. That's all! Your garden path will be restored to its original beauty.
