Probably hard to find someone who doesn't know what a jack is. This important tool allows you to lift not only cars, but also other equipment if necessary. A rolling jack is perhaps the most popular of all types of these devices. It is used to raise and briefly hold vehicles at a set height. The rolling jack is also used for lifting various loads.
Device Information
There are several types of jacks, the most common of which are pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, rack, screw, wedge and air. Each of them has its own differences. Some are fast, some are light, some are smooth, and some are less expensive. Despite the different characteristics and features, among similar devices, a rolling jack is especially popular. It refers to hydraulic equipment. This group also includes a bottle jack. Hydraulic lifts have maximum load capacity, high lift height, stability andreliability.
The jack was invented by the car repairman P. Lunati back in 1924. A year later, the same person created a platform lift with a hydraulic stand in the center. When choosing a car tool, you should focus on the following indicators: maximum load capacity, reliability, stability, lifting height. The rolling jack is most in demand among motorists, because for all its simplicity, it is in many ways superior to its counterparts. It has a relatively low body with wheels, which allows it to penetrate low-lying vehicles and loads. A lever with a so-called “lifting heel” rises from the body, thanks to which the lifting is carried out directly. The rolling car jack may have removable pads that provide maximum convenience when working with this device.
Groups of rolling jacks
This equipment is divided into 3 groups:
- used for the personal needs of a motorist (carrying capacity up to 3 tons);
- used for work in car services and tire shops (up to 4 tons);
- used to service special equipment (forklifts) and heavy vehicles (carrying capacity up to 20 tons).
The rolling jack is often equipped with a pre-lift pedal. Some of the models involve the use of a sliding traverse to lift the car on one side.
Rolling jack 2t
Thisa small but very convenient jack is most often used by ordinary motorists who have not too large cars. This lifting equipment will serve the owner for more than one year. It is quite compact and does not take up much space. Such a rolling car jack is also good because lowering and raising is carried out without jerks, very smoothly and evenly. This is because the hydraulic oil inside it is a virtually incompressible fluid. Its main disadvantage can be considered that it works slowly, it will annoy those who are in a hurry somewhere.
