The feeling of comfort, inner balance and tranquility in our hectic, changeable world largely depends on the environment. At the same time, especially at home, it is often determined by the overall design of the interior. A significant role in this will be played by the materials used in the decoration, including the flooring. It is in many cases extremely important in creating a general atmosphere. Therefore, an engineering board may be of particular interest for such purposes.

First of all, those who use natural materials should pay attention to it. Although the engineered board is obtained artificially, natural components are mainly used for its manufacture, except for glue. In fact, these are glued layers of wood, they are perpendicular to each other. There is a two-layer and three-layer board.

In the last version, each layer is made of solid wood, in the two-layer version, the base isplywood. Valuable wood is used as the top surface. Its thickness allows repeated processing (grinding). Being a finishing material, an engineered floor board, for example, can replace parquet, and due to its multi-layered characteristics, it will significantly surpass it. This will manifest itself in a smaller amount of deformation due to changes in humidity and temperature, as well as in a significant strength of the entire board and its outer layer.

With this use, the engineered parquet board allows a greater number of polishing of its surface and can last longer. In addition, due to the dimensions of the parts, the laying of such parquet will be carried out with fewer joints. This combination of properties makes it possible to use this material not only in living rooms for flooring, but also in restaurants, cafes and other similar premises.

It should be noted that the engineering board has a comb-groove system on the sides, which makes it easy to assemble a solid surface from individual elements. The drawing, the texture of the finished flooring can be designed to look like noble wood species. Manufacturers produce a wide range of boards with different surfaces, such as almost all types of oak (white, "arctic", "cognac" and others), walnut, teak, etc.

Laying such a board can be done on any floor, including concrete, the main thing is that it be even anddry. For alignment, you may have to perform an additional screed. Boards can also be mounted on plywood. For all types of installation, glue is used for fastening; in many cases, manufacturers recommend using a two-component adhesive. Due to its characteristics, this board is much better suited for laying on warm floors than ordinary parquet.

Despite the fact that the engineering board is a relatively new material, it has managed to establish itself only positively. With greater strength than solid wood, better moisture and temperature resistance than parquet, it deserves special consideration when choosing flooring for both commercial and residential applications.
