Facing a house with bricks, first of all, requires a good foundation. Brick is a heavy material, it significantly increases the weight of the building. A light foundation that is not designed for the heavy weight of the building can crack, and as a result, the house will simply fall apart.
It is important to observe the width of the plinth at the foundation. If this base is less than 13.5 cm, facing the house with brick (or stone) is not practical. Why? Because the facing brick must lie on the base of the foundation, and the lining is done in half a brick, which is 13 cm. Half a centimeter will insure possible irregularities.
Sometimes, with a very narrow plinth, the cladding of the house is a quarter of a brick. This means that the bricks are placed on edge.
When working with bricks, it is important to choose the right composition of the building mix. The main rule - do not save! The mortar should consist of a part of cement of the highest grade (best "500"), two parts of lime mixed with water to a thick dough, and 7-8 parts of sand.
The cladding of the house should not be adjacent to the load-bearing wall. Between it and the brick should remain 3-4 centimeters for normal ventilation. If necessary, brickwork can be attached to the main wall with galvanized steel clamps or nails. One end of a clamp or nail is driven intoload-bearing wall, the second is immersed 7 or 8 centimeters into the masonry. So the strength of the lining will be guaranteed.
To ensure that the ventilation between the lining and the wall is even, you can use wooden blocks 40x40. They are stuffed on the wall of a wooden or adobe house, which is lined with bricks.
When planning to clad a house, you should plan a drawing on paper in advance, the direction in which the bricks will be laid. Wall cladding should not be continuous. It cannot be brought to the eaves in one row, and at the bottom it is necessary to leave several holes for ventilation. At the end of the work, it is best to close them with a metal mesh.

Brick can be used to veneer not only facades, but part of the walls inside the premises. This can add spice or brutality to the interior, it is advantageous to distinguish one of their walls from the rest.
