Windows with double-glazed windows have not surprised us for a long time. They have entered our lives, and almost all of us have become specialists who understand all their nuances. But such a concept as a double-glazed window is somewhat inaccurate, and does not quite reflect the essence.

When characterizing a package for a window, first of all, the number of glasses is specified. Two glasses means a single-chamber double-glazed window. The presence of three glasses indicates a double-glazed window. Glasses are separated by frames and create an air gap. To improve performance, an inert gas can be injected instead of air. Most often, argon is used for this; in addition, sputtering is applied to the glass. Thus, it is possible to improve the energy-saving properties of double-glazed windows.

In plastic windows for living quarters, they often put a warmer option, that is, from three glasses. Sometimes, if the design is very large, in order to lighten the weight of the sash, a single-chamber double-glazed window is installed. To improve the temperature performance, the inner glass is taken with an energy-saving coating. This allows you to combine the two indicators at a mutually beneficial level: the sash has become less weight, and the thermal conductivity indicators have changed very little.

Double glazing - this is how you can call a single-chamber double-glazed window, in which the first glass consists of triplex. For example, two glasses that have a thickness of 3 mm each, glued together with a film - this is a 6 mm triplex. Then, through a spacer frame, it is connected to another glass. It turned out one camera, but three glasses. Triplex can be 8 mm, in this case thicker glass is used, that is, 4 mm. For such an embodiment, the name "double-glazed window" may be appropriate. At least here it is justified.

The triplex itself, consisting of two glasses, can also be called double, but the name "double-glazed window" is not very suitable here. After all, the glasses are glued here and do not have gaps. Triplex with different tinting is used on cars. It protects the driver from fragments that could hit him if the windshield was cracked. The presence of the film makes triplex more reliable and profitable for drivers.

The characteristic of double-glazed windows provides for several indicators. This is not only thermal conductivity, but also the transparency of glass, the transmission of sunlight, strength, and many others. For central Russia, a double-glazed window will be most suitable, in which there are three glasses and two air-sprayed chambers. In some cases, you can use an energy-saving double-glazed window with argon.

It doesn't matter what you call a double-glazed window, the main thing is that it fully fulfills all the tasks assigned to itfunctions, that is, it would be warm in your apartment. Here is the main criterion for choosing a double-glazed window. But the temperature in the apartment is affected not only by the double-glazed window. If you install plastic windows, then you should pay attention to the profile itself. It is necessary to install plastic with a box width of more than 62 mm in the apartment. It can be profiles of different companies. It is not the name that is more important here, but the temperature indicators of the system. If you have a cold winter, then a 74 mm wide profile and a 44 mm double-glazed window are more suitable here. Sometimes it is preferable to immediately choose an improved option so that there are no additional problems later.
