Materials used for the production of garden parquet

Types of decking correspond to the materials used to make it. The following varieties can be distinguished:

  1. Wooden garden parquet. Often, such types of wood are used that are resistant to decay and mechanical damage. Most often, larch is used for this. It is this tree that practically does not rot, and is also resistant to fungi and insects. In addition, larch garden parquet is environmentally friendly, has low thermal conductivity and has a long service life. To increase the service life, the surface must be treated with special products at least twice a year.
  2. Wood-polymer composite. For the manufacture of parquet sections, sawdust and a polymeric substance that binds them are used. The main advantages of this material are durability, resistance to high humidity and temperature. The special processing of the material during its manufacture at a temperature of +215 ° C makes it immune to attack by insects and mold, cracking and drying out. In addition, such garden parquet does not require further staining or other processing. And its surface care is quite simple.
  3. Plastic garden parquet. The main advantage of this type of terrace parquet is that it does not crack, does not form chips or cracks, does not rot, mold, and is immune to insects.

Laying garden parquet

Installation of terraced parquet provides for the preparatory treatment of the surface on which the parquet will be laid in the future. This stage includes leveling and tamping the plane. Garden parquet can be laid on a concrete screed, wooden logs, sand and gravel surface, as well as on the ground that has been previously processed and compacted.

After preparing the surface, it is necessary to measure the area. This is necessary to calculate the required amount of material. You can start laying from any angle, the main condition is that the angle must be right. For ease of installation, a substrate for garden parquet can be used. The modules are attached to each other with the help of special locking fasteners, you need to do this in a checkerboard pattern.

If there is an obstacle in the laying path, the module must be cut. It is recommended to use woodworking tools for this, in particular saws with fine teeth.

If necessary, for example, an appointed redevelopment, you can easily dismantle the coating, and then re-install it.

Features of caring for decking

Care and frequency of surface treatment depends on the material from which the garden parquet is made. If wood is used, processing by special meansshould take place at least twice a year. When using plastic garden parquet or wood-plastic composite parquet, the treatment can be done once every two years. A special oil treatment is also required to avoid fading of the coating.

Daily maintenance includes cleaning the parquet surface from snow or dirt. This should be done with water at room temperature and the usual detergents. If the resulting soiling is strong enough, such as oil or cigarette stains, it is recommended to use abrasive detergents.

In the event that an abrasion is found on the surface, this place must be cleaned, and then a layer of special impregnation should be applied.
