Just imagine: a smooth surface of water, a quiet murmur of a stream, green plants blooming along the banks of a reservoir … By arranging a decorative pond in the country with your own hands, you can change the appearance of the site - this is unusual, and simply pleasing to the eye.
Any person can organize such a composition. Here you can go in two ways: either make a pond from ready-made forms, or use film material.

This is the fastest and easiest way to create a pond on the site. Specialized stores sell ready-made forms made of polyethylene and fiberglass, as a rule, they are frost-resistant. They vary in design and depth. When choosing a configuration and volume, it is necessary to be guided bythe size of the area on which the composition will be located. It is also necessary to remember that a ready-made decorative pond, installed in the country with your own hands, will look much smaller than the form itself.
When buying a container, it is advisable to choose it with a swamp zone, which is intended for water plantations. If you prefer a form without it, then you should take care of purchasing special containers for plants.
An important point in the construction of a reservoir is the installation of the form itself. First of all, you need to choose a suitable place so that the pond fits into the overall landscape. Don't place it near trees as this will cause it to clog quickly and, most importantly, root damage to the mold over time.
Installation begins with digging a moat in the form with an indent of 20 centimeters for the convenience of work. It is important when installing the pond, or rather, before filling the gap between the form and the soil with sand, fill the lower part of the tank with water for its tighter shrinkage. After installation, you can start planting coastal plants and water plants in the swamp zone. You can make a decorative pond in the country with your own hands using a metal container, if it is planned to be small. An old bathtub is quite suitable as such a reservoir.
Artificial pond in the country with the use of film material
Another option for creating a decorative pond in the country is to use PVC film as a base. It would be wiser to purchase an expensive and high-qualitymaterial that can last up to 15 years. PVC flooring is produced in various densities, for a one and a half meter pond (in depth) a film with a thickness of more than 1.5 millimeters is suitable.
The installation of a "film" reservoir, unlike molding, is carried out only in summer at a temperature of at least 20 degrees, when PVC is the most elastic.
You can dig a moat of any shape, if you wish - this is one of the advantages of a "film" pond. In order to avoid damage to the flooring, the moat is covered with rubble, then sand, a layer of geotextile or felt is applied to it. Only then the future bottom is lined with a film. To hide its residual pieces in the coastal zone, the coast is sprinkled with pebbles or small gravel. After the work done, you can pour water and start decorating.
You can also create a pond in the country with your own hands, the photo of which you see, on a small terrace, but on condition that its design allows it.
