Preparatory stage for making a marine inhabitant
It's easy to make an octopus out of plasticine, but it's worth getting ready to make it:
- Choose plasticine that will warm up well, not stick to your hands, and have a bright color.
- The place to work must also be organized correctly: modeling board, plasticine cutting knife, tools for working with the material.
- For comfortable work with a child, you can pre-knead plasticine.
- You need to choose a sketch of the future product that will match the age characteristics of the child.
You can use additional materials for decoration: beads, cereals, ribbons, paper.
Making the base of the octopus
Only 3 colors are usually used in the manufacturing process. The first is the body of an octopus, the second and third arefor the eyes.
How to mold an octopus from plasticine in stages, taking into account the levels of difficulty:
- The body is made from the main color. You need to pinch off a medium-sized piece and roll it either into a ball or into an oval. The figure will later become the head-torso of a marine inhabitant. If the work is done by an older child, then the head can be pear-shaped.
- Next make the tentacles. The manufacturing principle is this. Take 8 equal-sized pieces of plasticine of the same color as the head. You need to roll out each piece with sausage. Fold all the details on top of each other, forming a snowflake. It is desirable that all parts intersect in one place. When all the elements are laid, you need to stretch the tips a little.
- At the top of the snowflake, you need to fix the head-torso, blocking the interlacing of the legs. Next, you should give the tentacles a more natural shape by twisting the tips a little and laying the base in waves.
The base of the plasticine octopus is prepared, it remains only for decoration.
Last steps for making the octopus
When it is already determined how to make an octopus from plasticine, and the base is prepared, you can start decorating, showing all your imagination. But first you need to make the main accents, namely the eyes and suckers on the tentacles.
You need to roll 2 small balls of white plasticine, and then flatten them. Place on head. Do the same with black plasticine, but these balls should be smaller than white ones. Instead of black plasticine, you canuse beads. Facial features can be drawn with a toothpick or special stickers can be used.
Suction cups are formed from flattened balls that are made from yellow or white material. To make the element more natural, you need to make a recess in the center of each part with a toothpick. You can replace these suckers with millet.
The plasticine octopus can read the newspaper. It is enough to put a rectangle cut out of an old newspaper into his tentacles. You can tie a ribbon bow around your neck. Glue a cylinder out of colored paper to get a gentleman octopus.
