When installing entrance or interior doors, door fittings require a lot of attention: hinges, handles, locks, where the first ones are the most important element of any door. After all, without handles and locks, doors can still function, but without hinges - nothing. Moreover, the quality of the work of the door structure depends on their material and its quality: its “landing” in the door frame, opening. Therefore, first of all, when choosing a door, you need to pay special attention to the hinges.

Door hinges are made for metal doors, metal-plastic, glass and wooden doors. Also, they all differ in the method of construction and the type of fastening. According to the type of fastening, the hinges can be screwed and hinged. Screw door hinges are a fairly simple design, which consists of two cylindrical parts, each of which has soldered screws. It's a pretty organic design. One part of such hinges is fixed on the door leaf (screwed with the help of rods), and the other part is on the door frame, and then the door is simply put on. If necessary, it can be easily removed.

Hinged door hinges differ from screw-in hinges in the way of fastening. One of the plates is mounted on the door leaf with screws, and then the door is mounted to the door frame. Such hinges have a clear advantage and at the same time a disadvantage: the door is very difficult to remove from them. According to the design method, hinged door hinges are universal (one-piece) and detachable. Universal are a flexible design that can be equally easily attached to both the right and left side of the door leaf. But if you want to remove the door, you have to unscrew all of them. Detachable hinges are better in this regard. If you need to remove the door from them, you only need to lift it, but you should not unscrew them. They are divided into right and left. Therefore, even before buying detachable hinges, it is important to think about where the door will open and in which direction, taking into account all possible nuances.

Hinges for front doors deserve special attention. Due to the constant high load, door hinges must meet high quality standards. First of all, they ensure the safety of the home, and therefore are equipped with an anti-removable mechanism. Such a mechanism operates very simply: on one of the wings of the loop there is a small hole, and on the other there is a protrusion under it. When the door is closed, the protrusion fits tightly into the hole, and it is not possible to lift the door. It is also necessary that the hinge design itself be reinforced, the fittings for the input block should be longer, and the material from which it is made should be the mostdurable. The door hinge can be made of copper, aluminum or iron alloys. The most commonly used brass (an alloy of copper and zinc) and stainless steel. To make the strength indicators higher, steel or zinc alloys are also used, and the product is covered with brass on top.

How to choose the right type of loops? There are several criteria. First, the end of the door and the hinges must be structurally consistent. Secondly, they must support the weight of the door. In addition, you need to consider their durability. It depends on how often the door will be used. The most durable hinges are those made of steel with bearings. And finally, the hinges must have an aesthetic appearance. Various caps and caps allow you to decorate them.
