Wall cladding is the final stage of construction work. This process can be called artistic, because it is the decorative cladding that gives the building or facade an attractive look, creates its face, determines the mood of the building.

Facing work can be external or internal. The choice of finishing material and the technology of its fastening depend on their type.

Exterior wall cladding, in addition to its decorative function, also performs a protective one. It is she who protects the house from precipitation, winds, atmospheric influences. It is she who, first of all, retains heat, takes on the function of a sound insulator.

When choosing a facing material for the exterior of a house, you need to consider its main characteristics.

Decorative plaster. The fastest, easiest and most modern way to finish facades. Wall cladding with such plaster is durable. In addition, with its help, you can give the walls any look you like: make them plain or multi-colored, decorate with lace, fantastic patterns or any other patterns. The number of plaster colors is unlimited, and therefore the number of color solutions for home decoration is unlimited.

Ceramic tiles. It is usually applied together with plaster. It is possible to clad walls with ceramic tiles from top to bottom, but more often they distinguish a facade, door arches, window openings or a porch. Ceramic tiles can also be used on floors and walls in bathrooms, hallways, kitchens. It is chemically inert, easily tolerates any exposure to the atmosphere or chemicals, does not ignite, and is easy to clean. The variety of tiles available on the market allows you to realize any artistic solution at the most modest cost.

Natural stone. Wall cladding with wild stone will undoubtedly give the house status and solidity. The stone is practically eternal. However, it is much more expensive than artificial materials. In addition, heavy natural stone requires a reinforced foundation, cutting it is not cheap. Therefore, wall cladding with such material is quite expensive.

Artificial stone. It has all the properties of natural, but is much lighter in weight and cheaper in cost. Usually, artificial stone slabs have strict geometric shapes, so facing work takes much less time. In addition, if one fragment is damaged, it can be easily replaced without disturbing the pattern of the wall.

Natural wood. Used for both outdoor andinternal lining. This is the most expensive and time consuming process. Only well-dried boards are suitable for cladding. They are not attached to the wall itself, but to a specially constructed frame. It is believed that natural wood cladding is good for he alth, because it does not emit harmful substances, but, on the contrary, creates a he althy microclimate in the house, bringing it closer to nature.

That's true, but… In order for the wood not to deteriorate from moisture, so that pests do not start in it, and the outer wall cladding does not darken from time and atmospheric influences, the tree must undergo a number of special treatments.

It needs to be impregnated with flame retardants, bleach, antiseptics.

All these compounds greatly reduce the useful properties of wood.
