In modern conditions, metal profiles are widely used in interior decoration. A frame for drywall is assembled from it, which can be made in several levels (for example, two- or three-tier ceilings). The metal profile has been used as a fastener for drywall for a long time, while using auxiliary parts: crabs, T-shaped and U-shaped connectors, suspensions (straight and spring), extension connectors.
The most commonly used part for fastening a frame under drywall is a straight hanger for the CD-60. With it, the profile is fixed to the wall or ceiling. The extension connector is used to fasten two or more profiles into one. The crab is used to "splice" the building profile at a right angle. When you need to create a frame for drywall in two or more levels,use a U-shaped connector. A suspension with a spring is used to fasten the profile to the ceiling.
Some of the details described, such as the extension cord and the T-connector, are extremely rarely used by builders. But without such mounting elements as self-tapping screws and dowels, high-quality drywall fasteners are hard to imagine.
There are several types of clamping fasteners for building profile:
1. Self-tapping screws for metal. Are applied to installation of gypsum cardboard to a profile. Usually use self-tapping screws 25 mm long.
2. Self-tapping screws LM (bugs, fleas). It is with these small self-tapping screws that the profile is connected to suspensions, etc. Drywall fasteners involve the use of auxiliary parts (crabs, suspensions, connectors). All these parts are attached to the profile with LM screws.
3. Quick installation (dowel-nail). It is used to install the guide profile. Under the pressure of the nail, the plastic part of the quick assembly expands, pressing the profile firmly against the wall.
4. Press washer. It is also used to connect building profiles to each other. It is a replacement for the LM self-tapping screw in the production of external work.
5. Wood screws. They are used for attaching a building profile to gypsum walls (gypsum partitions), as well as for arranging a frame made of wooden bars and attaching drywall to them. They are also used to connect sheets of drywall to each other. Due to the wide stroke of the screw, the wood screw perfectly fastens drywall boards.
When installing drywall, one of the pressing issues is the correct thermal insulation of the room. Manufacturers of building materials provide a wide range of thermal insulation: polystyrene foam boards, polystyrene foam, mineral wool, polymer heat reflectors. Thermal insulation fasteners can be of different types, depending on the thermal insulation material used.
Quality drywall fasteners are an important component of repair and construction work and a guarantee of their high quality. However, do not forget that the level of professionalism of construction workers is also of great importance.
