Indoor floriculture is an exciting activity. Plants from all over the world can be used for growing indoors. Representatives of the flora of the tropics and subtropics feel great in offices and apartments, delighting with their decorative appearance. One of them is abutilone.
Indoor maple is a representative of the Malvaceae family. Under natural conditions, this plant reaches 1.5 meters in height. Indoor abutilon is represented by specially bred varieties and hybrids, which are small in size. It is a low growing shrub with carved leaves. They are similar in shape to maple. Therefore, the plant was called "abutilon", "indoor maple". Flowers that will delight their owners with constant abundant flowering give it a special decorative effect. Numerous buds collected in brushes gradually turn into bright colorful bells. Abutilon (maple) has flowers of different colors. Depending on the variety, they can be cream, yellow, purple, orange and peach. Individual hybrids will pleasantly surpriselarge flowers.
Despite its origin, abutilon - indoor maple - is a rather unpretentious plant. However, for abundant year-round flowering and normal development, it is necessary to create certain conditions for it.
First of all, before you buy a tropical plant for your home collection, you should decide on the variety. Tall species of abutilon are grown in a winter garden or greenhouse. They reach a height of 1.5 meters and have small orange flowers. Such plants are less decorative than specially bred hybrids and varieties of abutilone.
For growing indoors, usually buy several plants with different colors of flowers. The room in which abutilon grows is pleasing to the eye.
Indoor maple is a light-loving flower. It thrives in well-lit windows. However, it should be noted that the light must be diffused. Avoid direct sunlight on the flower. In darkened rooms, the plant will suffer from a lack of lighting. At the same time, it loses its decorative effect. The branches are strongly stretched, and the number of flowers is reduced.
Grow indoor maple in a medium-sized pot. For planting a plant, universal soil is perfect, which can be purchased at any specialized store. Regular top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers will be required.
Watering abutilon is moderate. The soil should not be waterlogged, but drying should also not be allowed. With a lack of moisture, the plantblooms poorly. Therefore, watering is done when the soil in the pot dries up.
An important event in the cultivation of indoor maple is seasonal pruning and the formation of the crown of the plant. The best time for this will be the end of January and the beginning of the summer period. After pruning, be sure to feed abutilon. Indoor maple during the period of intensive growth must be pampered with a complex fertilizer intended for flowering plants. This will ensure good development and abundant flowering of abutilon.
