Just a few years ago, when building partitions, craftsmen had to suffer for a very long time, because wooden blocks were used as a frame. And not the best quality. And if it was required to make an irregularly shaped structure, then, as they say in the common people, at least
hang yourself. But as soon as the guide profile appeared on the market, the production of partitions was much easier. The metal frame allows you to realize the most bizarre forms.
In the manufacture of interior partitions, a rigid frame made of a metal profile is used as the basis for them. It is produced by cold rolling of galvanized steel strip with a thickness of up to 0.8 millimeters. The galvanized layer protects the drywall guide profile from external factors. This measure is necessary because partitions and boxes are sometimes assembled in damp areas, such as bathrooms or shower rooms.
Produced guide profile mainly three meters long. In order towithstand heavy loads, for example, when facing partitions with ceramic tiles, stiffening ribs are made on the profiles.
When assembling frames, profiles of different types are used, each of which has its own purpose.
First type - rack profile
It has a U-shape and the abbreviation PS. The main function is to attach drywall sheets or other finishing materials to it, used in the manufacture of partitions and boxes
Second type - guide profile
- Also made in the form of a channel and briefly called PN. When assembling the frame, it performs the function of a guide profile for the rack. It has 8mm dowel holes along its entire length for floor or wall mounting.
Third type - corner profile
Designed to strengthen the corner joints when installing drywall. Perforated with 5mm holes for best bonding to drywall sheets when puttying. Short name - PU. Also available in three meter lengths
Fourth type - arched profile
Used for making curved drywall surfaces. For its production, a ceiling guide profile PP - 60\27 is used. With it, you can set any bending radius, but not less than fifty centimeters
Of course, in the manufacture of partitions, not only the guide profile is used. For this, various insulating materials are also used to insulate or create sound insulation. Plasterboard, cement chipboard, plywood and other materials can be used as cladding.
Modern technologies have greatly facilitated many construction works. A large amount of material allows you to create partitions of various shapes in the interior in a fairly short period, and, most importantly, using a guide profile, you can do it yourself, without involving expensive specialists.
