In fact, there is a wonderful option - houses made of foam blocks, the construction of which by one's own hands is quite accessible to anyone. The foam block is a very convenient material: it is easy to process, it can be sawn with a conventional hand saw, it is light and easy to install. In addition, it is quite durable and much cheaper than bricks and other building materials.

Do-it-yourself construction of such structures begins with the foundation. The site selected for construction is cleared and well leveled. The foundation for such a house can be either monolithic tape or high-grade foam blocks. A cheaper and no less practical option is a prefabricated foundation made of blocks. The quality of its laying must be checked with the help of a level, and only then the device of subsequent rows begins. Building a house, like any other type of masonry, starts from the corners. If the foam blocks are of good quality and perfectly even, then they are laid on a special adhesive solution. If they have defects, then the usual masonry mortar is used. The laying of each subsequent row is verified by the level and plumb, and the irregularities are sealed with mortar. Reinforcing bars are laid every few rows, for which cuts are made in the blocks, which are then carefully cemented. This will give the walls extra strength.

The next stage is the arrangement of window and door openings. For this, reinforced concrete lintels of various configurations are used: straight or arched. After installing the jumpers, the masonry continues to the required height of the walls.
