When there is often no hot water in the house, the question of choosing a water heater becomes acute. There are two main types of boilers - horizontal and vertical.
Vertical or horizontal?
Horizontal water heaters differ from their vertical counterparts in that the incoming water in them will necessarily mix with the already available hot water, so that in general the water temperature will gradually decrease, and you will have to adjust the optimal mode using a mixer. Horizontal water heaters are used in houses where there is not enough ceiling height or there are structures that make it difficult to install vertical ones. So, the standard "Khrushchev" is not able to accommodate a conventional boiler.
Design of the device
Horizontal water heaters have internal tank protection, which can be either titanium coating or dispersion enamel. The titanium layer makes the structure much more durable, but the water heating device itself is much more expensive than the enamelled counterpart. Similar techniqueis especially popular during the summer season. And electric horizontal water heaters are able to satisfy the most demanding citizens in their wishes for installation and further use. Moreover, they are much more popular than gas counterparts. This is due to the fact that not all high-rise buildings have a connection to a natural gas source. In order to always have water at the right temperature in the house, it is enough to adjust the device once using the electronic control system.
Connection and installation
To connect the water heater, it is enough to take care of a good electrical network that would withstand the load of the boiler, make grounding and install automatic fuses. Horizontal water heaters are switched on manually and have one control mode. But it is also possible to install electronic control, several heating modes and other automatic functions. Also, installations for heating water differ in the number of calculations for water intake points - there can be one installation, designed for several rooms. So, the Ariston horizontal water heater is the leading product on the boiler market. It appeared on the market in the 60s of the last century, and during this time the product was brought to perfection. The disadvantages of water heaters are their large dimensions, too long heating time and the need for periodic maintenance, since some elements may fail.
Features
For buyers, an important characteristic is the volume of the tank and the power of the heater. By capacity, there are large, medium and small water heaters. Moreover, the latter type will be appropriate in absolutely any housing, and large ones, on the contrary, are suitable for large and crowded premises, offices, houses. It is preferable to choose a storage boiler with "dry" heating elements - they are more durable in use. Ceramic fillers will last you much longer, while plastic fillers transfer heat much worse. Of course, water heaters with stainless steel tanks are more durable, and copper tanks take the podium among such products.
