Bent profiles are produced in accordance with the established state standards, approved in February 1995 by a special decree of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation. These standards are both interstate and apply to the CIS countries. Square profiles are no exception. Especially for them, a bent profile was developed - GOST 30245.
Production technology
Square tubes are produced on specialized rolling mills from carbon and low alloy steels. First, an ordinary pipe of a circular cross section is obtained, which then, after being compressed in rolls, acquires a square cross section. The continuity of the process is ensured by butt welding between the rolls. If defects are found, they are removed by manual or automatic welding, using special additives and welding consumables. The standard lengths of produced square pipes are 6 and 12 meters.
