Assignment to a technical worker of a certain group regarding electrical safety is a prerequisite that allows him to obtain a permit for the possibility of self-maintenance of operating electrical installations. The stated requirement equally applies to persons who directly use equipment in their work, but are not related to electrical work. Electrical safety certification is also carried out for them.
Educated electricians by enterprises, institutions/organizations are divided into the following categories regarding the specifics of occupations:
- administrative and technical staff;
- operational staff;
- maintenance personnel;
- operational and maintenance personnel;
- technological staff of electrified production departments.
The administrative and technical workers include specialists and managers who are responsible for operational and maintenance, installation, various repair and adjustment actions in working devices, as well as having certain tolerance groups forelectrical safety.
The duties of the operational staff include conducting a quick service of the devices, which includes switching, inspection procedures, preparation of the workplace, granting permission to the craft, strict supervision. The foremen of the repair site, who have been assigned electrical safety clearance groups, carry out technical actions and many types of equipment repairs, and can also arrange its installation, installation and testing.
Operational and maintenance personnel are specialists who have completed the course of necessary training to work with the installations assigned to them, as evidenced by the electrical safety clearance groups assigned to them. Technological workers are involved in specific processes, the main component of which is electrical energy (electric welding, electrolysis, electric arc furnaces, etc.).
All representatives of the personnel of the enterprise are assigned their own electrical safety clearance groups. This happens after a series of the following actions: passing a medical examination, completing a course of study, testing knowledge by passing exams. The group number (from 1st to 5th) is influenced by work experience, education, information and skills received.
- 1st group - people who do not have special training, but are employed in jobs where situations of electric shock are possible.
- 2nd group - assigned only after completing the 72-hour program.
- 3rd group –The examiner must have experience with the previous group. He is obliged to fully study the structure and procedure for servicing electrical installations, know the list of requirements for work, master the basic methods and skills in the practical provision of the basics of first aid.
- 4th group - to assign it, you need to work within the previous group for at least 3-6 months. There are also a number of requirements: knowledge of electrical engineering in the volume taught in a vocational school, have a clear idea of possible hazards at work, master the basic provisions of the Labor Protection Rules, PUE, minimum fire safety requirements, provision of PMP.
- 5th group - work with the 4th group for a period of at least 3-24 months. Along with this, it is necessary to know the schemes of working devices, study the requirements for their operation, fire safety, methods of organizing work, direct supervision of work in installations, be able to state the requirements for minimizing risks, instructing specialists, be able to teach safety precautions and theoretical and practical skills of PMP.
