Fresh air and indoor microclimate are impossible without a ventilation system. Its mandatory elements are ventilation pipes.
They must meet certain requirements:
- be airtight;
- maintain the air flow rate in accordance with the established technical requirements;
- do not exceed the noise level;
- maintain the air pressure specified in the design documents;
- do not occupy a large amount of space.
Ventilation pipes are used in rooms to evenly distribute supply air and remove polluted air.
Characteristics of the ventilation network are cross-sectional area, rigidity, cross-sectional shape. The ventilation pipe works efficiently with a good air flow rate, which depends on the specified parameters.
Types of pipes
Design documents determine which air ducts are used - rigid (galvanized) or flexible (frame).
Rigid air ducts are used in enterprises, offices, cultural and entertainment complexes, various institutions and organizations where active air exchange is provided.
Plastic ventilation pipes are more often used in small rooms with a complex configuration.
These pipes have recently become widespread for a number of reasons.
1. Plastic ventilation pipes maintain tightness more reliably due to the simplified connection of the duct elements.
2. Plastic ventilation for shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment complexes, fitness centers, hospitals and clinics is more appropriate, as these rooms have high requirements for air quality and composition.
3. To ensure the required air flow rate, the ventilation pipes are additionally equipped with fans with noise absorbers. With a pipe diameter above 160 mm or 225 mm, the ducts are noisy.
4. The physical characteristics of plastic allow for faster airflow than metal.
The material from which these ventilation pipes are made is polypropylene. It is reliable and durable, stable to light, moisture, chemicals and temperature.
Plastic air ducts are widely used in private cottages and industrial buildings. The only restriction is that such ventilation cannot be used in hot shops, because this can cause serious consequences and a reduction in service life.
Ducts can be flexible or rigid. The former are used in air conditioning for air purification during welding and casting, as well as for the removal of toxic substances in industries.chemistry and pharmaceuticals. They can be of any shape.
Rigid air ducts are plastic pipes, their wall thickness is 3-5 mm. Using a regular hacksaw, they can be shortened to the desired size. Corrosion resistant.
Ventilation pipes are covered with polyamide fabric to increase the service life. With plastic ventilation, which is installed with access to the street, the air ducts are covered with aluminum foil.
The cost of metal ventilation is much more than plastic, so plastic is in great demand, especially in private construction.
