Modern houses and apartments are equipped with various communication systems. At the same time, you can find just a huge number of various household electrical appliances and other devices for everyday use in them. Each of these gadgets requires an electrical connection, and some of them even the Internet. For this, various wires are used, which are placed almost throughout the apartment, turning it into a kind of power plant.
To solve the problem with wires, they use a plastic skirting board with a cable channel, although there is also a technology that involves hiding wires in specially made boxes. However, such boxes immediately catch the eye and spoil the appearance of the room. Moreover, if the apartment is being renovated, you will still have to purchase new materials to frame the corners of the floor and wall, and a plastic plinth with a cable channel will be the ideal solution in this case.
It is worth noting that it must be used around the entire perimeter of the room. This is due to the fact that each party can have a certain shade that is peculiar only to it. Therefore, if you do not install a plinth with a cable channel in the entire room in one go, butleave gaps behind the furniture, then, when rearranging, it will be possible not to find the missing part of the required color even in the largest building materials market.
However, this type of material in plastic version has its drawbacks. For its installation, a perfectly flat wall is required. Otherwise, all the defects of the putty that the plinth with the cable channel will show will be noticeable. A wooden product of this type can hide flaws (this will require putty). Also, plastic products have a rather fragile structure. If you accidentally touch your foot, they can simply burst. But their device allows for quick dismantling without damaging the skirting boards themselves. This makes it possible to access all the wires (as needed). That is why a skirting board with a cable channel is often used instead of cable ducts if you have to work with a small number of them.
The installation of such skirting boards can be done in two ways. The first involves the installation of special latches around the entire perimeter, on which the selected material will be installed. In the second method, special self-tapping screws are used, with the help of which the plinth with the cable channel is pierced through, fixing it to the wall.
The first mounting option does not differ in close interaction with the wall and does not tolerate frequent dismantling. It is only suitable for areas with ideal walls and for small sections, although manufacturers call itthe most reliable. The second method provides good tolerance for any dismantling, is excellent for correcting minor defects, but during the initial installation it requires accuracy, and also does not have a very attractive appearance. Although many specialists have learned to hide the caps from the screws remaining on the surface in such a way that they are practically invisible on the plinth itself.
