Today, almost everyone can bring cable or satellite TV into their home and get the opportunity to watch many different channels. However, if this is a rented apartment, sometimes it is better to play it safe and make such a thing as a do-it-yourself digital television antenna. Find out how to do it right now.
A little secret
To begin with, we note that the antenna for digital television is absolutely no different from the usual decimeter. What does it mean? Only that the time and money costs for the manufacture of such a device will be minimal. There are no secrets here, and the whole point of the work will be to convert a standard antenna into a digital one. To do this, just go to the market and buy a simple cheap antenna of the "grid" type. It costs about 300-400 rubles.
What tools and devices will be required for reprofilingdevices?
How do you make an antenna for digital television with your own hands? To perform the work, we need a board measuring 550 x 70 millimeters, several pieces of self-tapping screws, as well as a copper wire 40 centimeters long (the diameter of the central core is 4 millimeters).
We make a blank from a wooden plank. To do this, cut 8 wires with a length of 375 millimeters each, and their middle must be cleaned by 20-30 millimeters. This is to ensure good contact for signal transmission.
Next, cut 2 wires 220 mm long and, based on the size of the plank, strip them at the joints. All those wires that are left (there should be 8 of them), bend the letter "V".
What do I need to do to assemble the antenna?
First you need to purchase a special plug and connect the antenna and cable with it. This is done quite simply. Using a desktop soldering iron, a wire is attached to the plug. This cable will be installed on the bottom connection of the device. Everything, at this stage, a home-made antenna for digital television has been successfully made! You can connect it to TV and watch.
Do-it-yourself digital television antenna? Method 2
As for the tools, in this case we will not purchase a ready-made device and convert it to digital. Here we will look at how to make an antenna for digital television with your own hands from improvised materials. Probably, every owner will find such tools:
- Wooden trempel.
- Scotch or duct tape.
- Soldering iron.
- Two tin cans.
- Several meters of TV cable (3-5m is enough).
And similarly to the first method, we need plugs for connecting wires.
We've sorted out the tools, now let's get to work. How to make an antenna for digital television with your own hands? At the first stage, a standard television cable should be finalized. To do this, make a small incision on its soft shell. A silvery "foil" will be visible under it. The cable is covered with this material in several layers. Therefore, to get to the wire itself, you will have to make a cut 10 centimeters from the edge. Then you need to twist the “foil” with your fingers and at the same time cut its middle layer by 10 millimeters. A plug is installed from the opposite end of the wire, which will then be connected to the TV.
After the cable, you can proceed to the banks. As for their size, to receive a digital signal, it is enough to have a tin container with a volume of 750 to 1000 milliliters. It is necessary to attach a cable to one of these cans, and with the end where there is a “foil” (otherwise the channels will not be displayed correctly). Screw the core of the wire to the second. When connecting the cable to the banks, it is best to use soldering. If the wire is fixed on adhesive tape, this design is unlikely to be workable.
The only case where you can use such material is the installation of cans on a trempel. But alsohere it is necessary to observe the technology of application. This means that banks should be located relative to the trempel in one straight line. The distance between the tin containers should be approximately 7-8 centimeters. At this stage, a do-it-yourself digital antenna from improvised materials has been successfully made. You just have to find a suitable signal and fix it in the place where the reception is the best.
How many channels will it catch?
As a rule, such devices are designed to receive a small number of TV channels. However, if the cable TV is not password protected, you can watch pay-per-view shows as well. In any case, a homemade antenna will catch up to 10-15 channels (at least).
So, we have looked at several ways in which you can make an antenna for digital television with your own hands. Both options are quite budgetary, so almost everyone can try themselves as a “homemade master”.
