It's hard to imagine life in an apartment without electricity. Unfortunately, sometimes there are situations when the wiring in the apartment needs urgent replacement. The reasons are different - it is out of order, not powerful enough (the devices “cut down” the meter), sockets and switches need to be moved. Yes, you never know! How to carry out all procedures without compromising the wallet and security?
Replacing the wiring in the apartment
If the premises are already residential, and not just built, then first you need to dismantle the old wiring. How? Ideally, call a master electrician. If you have sufficient knowledge in this area, then you can do everything yourself. First, the electricity meter is turned off. If all rooms in the apartment are connected to the meter separately, then they should not be turned off. This is necessary, of course, for safety. Then the old wires are disconnected from the meter and from appliances (sockets, switches). All this is done in high density rubber gloves. This isminimum safety requirements.
Wiring in an apartment is a dangerous tangle of wires. Especially if it was carried out by negligent masters many years ago. After everything is turned off, you can dismantle all the wires. This applies to the wiring that was put on top. That is outside the walls. With the dismantling of wiring that is inside the walls, it is more difficult. You need to at least roughly know where it goes. You can see it on the distribution box. If earlier the wires were not put into a special tube (corrugated), then you will have to break the walls and ceiling, depending on where the wires are put. If they were in the tube, then it is enough to pull them out of there. It will take effort.
New wiring
Before wiring in the apartment, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work. First, you need to decide where all the sockets and switches in the premises will be located. Don't forget the chandeliers too. Secondly, you need to select the wires. Wiring in an apartment with a large number of electrical appliances requires wires with a special cross section and thickness. Which ones? Everything depends on your needs. One of the best and most durable wires are copper wires with a cross section of 0.5 mm. Thirdly, you need to decide how the wiring will go around the apartment. Will it be external or internal. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. The outdoor one is good because it is always in sight, and it can be easily replaced. Disadvantage - not alwayslooks nice and fits into the design. Internal with proper installation is safe and not conspicuous. The disadvantage is that if replacement is necessary, difficulties arise. It is better to let the internal one into a special pipe, which has the property of extinguishing all sources of ignition in an emergency. The meter must have toggle switches that will work when overloaded. All procedures for connecting new wires to the meter must be carried out by a master electrician. The wiring in the apartment cannot be completely replaced by yourself, unless you are an electrician.
