The service life of a metal tile roof depends not only on the quality of the material itself, but also on the quality of its installation. The correct laying of a metal tile plays an important role. The roof will serve for a long time if all the requirements for high-quality insulation and ventilation of the roof are met. Therefore, the laying of metal tiles requires special knowledge and experience in performing this work.

There is an instruction for laying metal tiles, which provides for the following work items:

1. Making a roofing cake under a metal tile.

Incorrect and poor-quality laying of the layers of the roofing cake under the metal tile will not appear immediately. But it will greatly reduce the life of the roof. Therefore, it is necessary to exercise rather strict control over the creation of layers. In order for the laying of metal tiles to be of high quality, and the roof to last for a long time, the following layers are performed from the bottom up:

- vapor barrier layer;

- insulation layer;

- waterproofing;

- crate;

- metal tile.

2. Performing thermal insulation

Insulation in the form of plates is mounted at a distance between the rafters. The width of the insulation layer should be 10-15 cm larger than the required size. When laying on the insulation, water should not get in.

3. Implementation of vapor barrier. This special film is laid with a gap of 30-50 mm in relation to the thermal insulation layer.

4. Waterproofing is also a special film (superdiffusion membrane) that is placed directly on the thermal insulation layer. Between both types of film, all overlaps and holes must be carefully sealed.

5. Hooks for the spillway are installed.

6. Installation of the crate under the metal tile. Sheathing is made of wood or ventilated purlin with a pitch of 350 mm.

7. Installation of cornice strips and lower valley. Both elements protect against water ingress into the under-roof space.

8. A bypass is installed around the chimney. To do this, a waterproofing film of 50 mm is displayed on the pipe and fixed on it. With the help of special strips, the pipe is bypassed, as well as water is drained to the cornice.

9. Sheets of metal tiles are being lifted onto the roof.

10. In order for the metal tile to be laid with high quality, the laying is carried out in the following order. To do this, the sheets are strictly horizontally aligned along the eaves line with an overhang of 50 mm behind it, after which they are attached to the crate with self-tapping screws in the places where the wave deflects. All sheets must be attached to each purlin. throughexits to the roof are made with the help of special passage elements. The places where the layers of steam, heat and waterproofing are exposed must be sealed with adhesive tape. The joints between the passage elements are insulated with silicone sealant.

11. The dormer window, the upper valley are being installed, the adjoining strips, end strips are being installed, the ridge of the metal tile is being installed. Snow guards are installed. The end plate is fastened with self-tapping screws to the end board every 350 mm.

12. Roof overhang is sewn.

13. This completes the installation of the roof and the laying of the metal tile, the debris is removed, the damaged areas are touched up.

14. A drainage system is being installed.
