What is a coplanar system?

Complanarity is the arrangement of several points or lines in one plane (information from the explanatory dictionary).

The standard design of a sliding door assumes that each leaf has its own skid. When opened, one half overlaps the other. When closed, there are gaps and stepped protrusions between the parts of the structure.

In a coplanar sliding door system, the leaf is installed in skids (guides), similar to the traditional design. When opened, they move smoothly forward and then to the side. Closedform a single canvas, lined up in one line, without steps and visible gaps. This effect is achieved through the use of special brackets in the installation.

The coplanar cabinet system was invented in Italy with the support of specialists from Germany. German designers have invented unique mechanisms. This method of fastening is used for interior doors, partitions used for space zoning, closets, wardrobes, furniture for offices, children's rooms, living rooms.

Important nuances

The cabinet body and the doorway must be aligned with the floor level. If installing in a shallow cabinet, it must be secured to the wall for safety.

Proper operation of the coplanar system ensures high-quality installation without distortions, sagging, gaps. It is important to install special leveling systems on facades.

Materials for making doors

  1. Chipboard boards are a light, inexpensive material used in economy class constructions; chipboard doors are difficult to decorate (it is impossible to decorate with carvings, recreate small details). Chipboard structures usually have a strict, concise design. Laminated fabrics are stronger and more durable. Disadvantages: the material is toxic, flammable. Poor-quality goods are deformed in a humid environment, mold and fungus may appear. At high temperatures and dry air, it dries up and crumbles.
  2. MDF boards are a durable, practical material that does not deform. Suitable for painting, veneering, milling (carving with a special tool). The range of designs is more diverse. Disadvantages of MDF: the material is flammable, it costs more than chipboard.
  3. Veneer (sheets of wood 0.1-10 mm thick) is a strong, durable material with a beautiful natural texture, there is a variety of patterns. It is not subject to deformation, moisture resistant. Cons: panels decorated with veneer are heavy, not suitable for all designs, doors look bulky.
  4. PVC (plastic) is a modern lightweight material that does not deform under the action of moisture, is resistant to the appearance of fungus and mold, and is easy to care for. There is a variety of colors. Disadvantages: cracks and breaks at low temperatures, releases toxic substances when burned.
  5. Tempered glass is a durable material that gives any design an elegant and unusual look. The canvas is easy to care for, it is fireproof. On the glass, you can apply a pattern, spraying, make it matte, shiny or mirror. Disadvantages: requires careful handling during installation and operation, large canvases have an impressive weight, tempered glass is expensive.
