The Taifi grape variety has been known since ancient times. Arabs through the port of Arabia Taef in the 7th-8th centuries. n. e. brought a variety of this grape to Central Asia. In the vineyards of Samarkand and Bukhara, Taifi grapes were cultivated for a long period of time, and then spread to other regions. This variety is oriental. On the territory of the Russian Federation, Crimea is excellent for growing this crop. The variety is also widely distributed in Dagestan, Tajikistan and Georgia.
There are two varieties of Taifi grapes.
Tyfi: pink grapes
This is one of the best table grape varieties in the world assortment. From it you can make strong, table and dessert wines. As well as compote, jam, marinade. Grapes are used to make raisins, which are in demand.
Grapes contain a lot of carbohydrates in their composition (16.8 grams per 100 grams of berries). However, its calorie content is low.
Description of the plant
The Taifi grape has a flower of both sexes. Clusters are conical in shape, of medium density, often with lateral branches. The size of one bunch of grapes is usually large or very large (width 19 cm and length 27 cm), it has an average weight of 480 to 550 grams. However, especially large clusters are also from 1.5 to 2.5kg.
Usually berries are oval or cylindrical in shape, large in size (width 19 mm and length 27 mm). The color of the fruit is dark pink with a purple hue. 100 grapes by weight can reach 800 gr. There is a shallow groove at the top of the berry. This is a characteristic feature of the variety. The berries have a thick and elastic skin, which is covered with dots and a waxy coating. Inside it is bright red. The pulp is crispy, dense, there is astringency. Taifi grapes taste pleasant and refreshing. The berry contains a lot of sugar (21-23%). Inside there are 2-3 medium-sized seeds. This grape has colorless juice.
The bushes of the plant, like its seedlings, are characterized by strong growth. From each bush, you can get a rich harvest of grapes (up to 20 tons per 1 ha), if they are cut in a timely manner and the plant is well taken care of. When cultivating, it must be borne in mind that the variety produces a large number of grapes on stepchildren. Severe frosts can harm the Taifi grape, but it is resistant to fungus, unlike other oriental varieties. His enemy is the spider mite. Grapes are suitable for various types of soil. It ripens quite late, it takes 165-170 days to harvest maturity.
The young shoot has a slightly colored crown with a raspberry border. He himself is red. However, the one-year shoot turns brownish-red, the nodes are more intensely colored.
The leaves of the plant are large, slightly dissected, contain five lobes. At the ends of the blades there are large teeth shaped like acute-angled triangles. teeth on the edgestriangular or have a blunt top. The edges of the leaf blade are raised, she herself is wavy. The leaf below has a weak bristly down, but more often the leaf is naked. In autumn they turn yellow. There is a lyre-shaped, open petiolate notch.

Taifi grapes tolerate transportation well, so they like to grow them commercially. In the refrigerator, these grapes can be stored until March, but there is a chance that the ridges will wither and the berries will fall off.
Tyfi: white grapes
There is a close relationship with pink grapes. It is also called Monte. This grape variety has the same agrobiological features and properties as Taifi (pink grapes). Although the color of the berries is light green, there is a faint pink tint on the side that faces the sun.
