Front overhang
Front eaves are required to protect the building from the front. It is a structure that is located along the edge of the roof with two slopes. They are available only for gable roof types. In order to carry out the installation of a frontal overhang on a roof with two slopes, it is necessary first of all to carry out the removal of the crossbeams, which are attached to the rafters, outside the building. Then the installation of the crate and roofing cake is carried out. Only then is the front overhang installed on the gable roof system. In some cases, the device is performed a little differently. A cornice board is attached to the crate under the vapor barrier, and spotlights are installed on it.
Eaves side overhang
Side overhang is installed on each sloping roof. Such a cornice is formed by rafters, which are carried out beyond the load-bearing walls of the building. This protrusion should correspond to the size of the blind area and be 50-70 centimeters. In most cases, 50 centimeters is the minimum width of the overhang, but in exceptional moments it can be less.
- In this case, the load-bearing walls of the building must be well protected from the effects of gusty winds and moisture. This is necessary because when rain or snow falls obliquely, the walls of the building can get wet.
- You can fix the situation with short rafters by installing fillies. But this is a complex process, because if the roofing system is already ready, rarely will anyone want to dismantle and make corrections. Cornice finishing material

Features of overhangs

Here, for example: the fastening of the eaves differs depending on the choice of material for decoration. Therefore, its plating should be approached very carefully. If the installation will be carried out on rafters already mounted in advance, the overhang should be located at the same angle.
This installation method can be used for roofs that have an average slope. In this case, the finishing elements are simply stuffed onto the edges of the rafters.
