Ticks are arthropod arachnids. This is the most numerous group of the class (approximately 48,000 species). Some of them are parasitic and quite dangerous. Acaricidal treatment allows you to protect your home and site from such "guests".
Varieties of ticks and their degree of danger
Not all ticks are dangerous for humans. However, some are still parasites and carriers of dangerous diseases.
The first group includes microscopic individuals. Many of them are harmless, but on contact they cause skin irritation. Their main mission is to participate in the formation of humus (contribute to the decomposition of organic matter).
The second group includes small parasites. Some ticks live by eating cultivated plants. These creatures are mostly considered crop pests.
Third group - "vampires". They are the most dangerous for us. These mites feed on the host's blood. However, the main danger lies in the spread of various kinds of ailments. Ticks are able to carry many bacteria from diseased organisms tohe althy. Sometimes one tick bite is enough to bring the human (or animal) body to death. It is impossible to immediately determine the danger of a “vampire”: being a hotbed of diseases, the parasite itself remains absolutely he althy and does not differ in any way from its fellows. By the way, representatives of this family are prone to "omovampirism": the hungry attack the well-fed for the sake of taking blood.
One of the effective ways to protect against these creatures is acaricidal treatment against ticks.
What means are used?
Repellent poisons. They repel ticks. It is based on diethyltoluamide (acts on all blood-sucking insects). Can be applied to clothing and body. A huge plus is that diethyltoluamide acts up to 5 days. The main advantage is low toxicity. As an example, we can name the drugs "Biban", "Medilis", "Reftamid", "Off-extreme".
Acaricides. Preparations allow you to exterminate parasites in the treated area (directly at the place where the solutions are sprayed). The most popular are "Tornado-antiklesch", "Reftamid", "Gardeks".
Insecticidal-repellent products. They have a broader, combined effect. Allow to kill ticks, preventing new invasions. The most commonly used drugs include Kra-rep, Tick-kaput, Gardex Extreme. The main components are alfamethrin and diethyltoluamide
Acaricidal treatment is most often chosen. Chemical substances, penetrating into the body of the parasite, paralyze its nervous system.system. Ticks die pretty quickly. Acaricidal treatment of the territory should be carried out only by specialists, since the drugs used are quite toxic.
Processing time
Tick control is best done either in spring or autumn. The first option is preferable, since parasites become active and multiply in warm weather (and sometimes in winter, if the temperature is above zero). Spring processing will deprive ticks of the opportunity to breed. The area must be prepared by removing fallen leaves and old grass.
Where should processing take place?
First of all - in places where there are a lot of people. This is:
- city parks;
- horticultural societies;
-
coastal areas;
recreation centers
Acaricidal treatment can also be carried out in the yards of private houses, including in adjacent areas.
Professional help
Using the services of professionals is better than working the area yourself. Why? Experts select the means that are most effective and at the same time safe. However, you need to apply only to those employees whose companies are registered, have work experience and positive customer reviews.
In addition, you should know that acaricidal treatment is considered preventive. It is carried out regularly, at objects of different categories. According to the decision adopted on 08.11.2007(FZ No. 258), acaricidal treatment OKVED (code 74.70.3) does not require licensing.
On the one hand, this means that it can be performed by non-professionals (processing of own sites by the owner himself). On the other hand, only a specialist will determine what kind of tick the territory is infected with, and to what extent, and decide which drug will be more effective (individual selection of poisons for a particular area). In addition, acaricidal treatment carried out independently can be not only useless (and therefore economically unprofitable), but also dangerous to he alth.
Issue price
And here a natural question arises: "How much does a professional acaricidal treatment cost?" The price (in this case, the total cost of the work) will be determined based on the size of the site, the area itself and, of course, the drugs used. On average, for processing a standard summer cottage of 10 acres, they can request from 6 to 10 thousand rubles.
Note…
- If you decide to hold such events, notify the neighbors about it.
- Remove the animals from the territory.
- Remove hand tools, dishes, children's toys from the site; cover tables in gazebos, close windows, and turn off ventilation.
- Do not pick berries, vegetables, mushrooms on treated areas (at least 10 days).
- Do not forget to clean up after processing: wash tables, playgrounds (benches, swings, sandbox, etc.)soda solution.
- The duration of the funds used depends on their composition. For example, the breakdown of cypermethrin (a substance that is most often used in open areas) occurs after a month, a maximum of one and a half. At this time, ticks that have fallen on the treated areas die. After a month and a half, it is desirable to repeat the treatment.
