Marble is an elegant building material. With such a surface, any room looks elegant and sophisticated. But not everyone can afford marble interior elements. However, the same result can be achieved with the help of some technologies that create imitation of marble. How to create such a surface? Let's look at this later in the article.
Imitation marble with acrylic paint
First of all, choose a color. In order to imitate a marble surface, you need three shades of paint. The first shade is the base. To choose it, you must first determine the final shade of the surface. To imitate dark marble, choose very dark or even black colors as the base. If you prefer a light marble surface, then the shade, respectively, should be light.
To choose the right shade, you need to find photos of natural marble surfaces and decide which ones you like best. If you look in detail, you can identify three more distinct colors: the main and a pairadditional. Additional tones should be similar, the first is only slightly lighter than the second.
Applying the main shade
To create an imitation of marble with paint using a paint roller, the entire surface of the wall is painted in the main shade. You can start further work only when this paint dries.
Additional shades
Next, you need to apply a couple of additional shades to the surface. At this point, a marble texture is created. We apply the paint of the selected shades to the surface, choosing the pattern ourselves, with a paint brush about 8 centimeters wide. Alternately apply on the wall, first one shade, then another.
The shading process
Using a sponge, a plastic bag, or both of these devices, mix and shade both shades. The final result should look like soft transitions from the first shade to the second, leaving no clear borders and obvious brush marks.
Imitating veins
Mix the darkest shade of all selected with glaze in a ratio of one to four. With the finished solution, draw veins on the painted surface using a brush with a long pointed end. We depict with a brush non-uniform interrupted lines, similar to veins on a natural marble surface.
In the same ratio, mix the glaze with the lightest shade of paint. Lightly dipping a pen into the solution, we draw it over the surface with a small hatching. If somewhere the lines turned out to be too obvious andnoticeable, you can blend them a little with a sponge.
We cover with a protective layer
First you need to wait until the surface is completely dry. If the final result is completely satisfactory, then we cover the surface with a colorless varnish to protect the painting and give the surface a shine similar to real marble.
Imitation marble plaster
Some people think that applying decorative plaster is not at all difficult, and therefore they try to do this job with their own hands. But in reality, not everything is so simple. Decorative plasters can be divided into the following types: Venetian, decorative, imitating silk or velvet, decorative. Each of the categories is further divided into several types.
Some of the listed coatings are very difficult to use, and not even every experienced professional will undertake such work. To become an expert in the use of Venetian plaster, it will take several years of work with this material.
Plaster requires multi-layer application. The number of layers can vary from three to eight. The layers must be given time to dry, otherwise, if this is not done, the layers will simply mix with each other during application. This is suitable for creating a blur effect when one shade smoothly flows into another. When the layer dries completely, a rough edge appears, which is the veins of the marble surface. ApplicationVenetian plaster takes place in such a way that the formation of veins occurs, where one follows from the other. This gives the effect of more naturalness and naturalness. Considering that this type of plaster must be applied in the thinnest layer with a spatula, it can be concluded that such an occupation is quite difficult.
The choice of textured and decorative plaster fully depends on the technique with which the material will be applied. Most often, these materials are quite hard, so you need to skillfully learn how to apply it gracefully in order for the final coating to look attractive. Its main advantage is that with its help you can realize any idea of the designer. Putty is suitable for a variety of interiors. Imitation of marble with putty is carried out in several stages. Wall Alignment
Before starting to imitate marble from ordinary putty, first prepare the surface, which must be absolutely clean. In order to level it, any gypsum plaster will do. If standard sand-cement plaster is more preferable, then you can use it. But it is still more convenient to use gypsum mixtures, becausehow fast they dry. The wall will dry completely in a couple of days.
The process of applying plaster
To create an imitation of marble, the mixture must be diluted to the required thick state, because it should not drain from the wall, but it should not be too thick either. The mass is collected in small portions, and strokes are applied on the selected wall. The drawing can be the most diverse, including imitation of marble. Sanding the wall
