High-voltage wires are the most popular type of cable products. The material is indispensable in cases where it is required to transmit electricity of increased power at a voltage of over 35 kV. Most often, a high-voltage wire is used to transmit a pulse of electric current to spark plugs from coils.

Quality products must have the following characteristics. First, the transmission of the impulse must occur with minimal loss of electricity. The wires must retain their characteristics and properties in the temperature range from minus 30 to plus 100 degrees Celsius. And also withstand voltage up to 40 kV.

By their design, high-voltage wires consist of insulation (protective layer), caps, metal contacts and a conductive core. The last element can be made of stranded copper, thin metal wire with dielectric upholstery. In addition, the core can be non-metallic, with a distribution highvoltage.

For insulation, a single-layer or multi-layer coating of a dielectric material (plastic, silicone, rubber) is used. The protective layer carries the following functional load. It prevents the leakage of electric current, protects the conductors from the damaging effects of flammable lubricants, high temperatures, moisture, harmful fumes, and mechanical damage.

Contacts or metal lugs provide the electrical connection of wires to the distributor cap, contact plugs or ignition coils. Caps are used to protect connections from aggressive environmental influences, and also prevent leakage of electric current.

High-voltage wires are divided into several groups. Mounting provide interblock and internal connections of devices and electronic equipment. Ignition wires are widely used in various fields. They are involved in the ignition circuit of jet engines, internal combustion engines, powerful lighting equipment. These materials are operated under conditions of high temperatures, stresses and impulses. They are used in road transport, which has requirements for interference suppression.
