Operation principle
Carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are arranged as follows. During operation, carbon dioxide is emitted. This is due to the pressure in the balloon. It is created by saturated carbon dioxide vapor. OTS, (fire extinguishing agent), when it enters the fire, reduces the amount of oxygen, thereby cooling objects and stopping combustion. That is why this type of fire extinguisher is used to extinguish fires caused by the ignition of substances that cannot burn without oxygen.

The body capacity of this type of fire extinguisher is at least 2.68 liters. This is indicated by the number 2 in the license plate of the unit. The mass of the carbon dioxide charge is 2-0.10 kg. Class B model hearth, must be at least 21V.

Using the OU-2 fire extinguisher

- Flarer (tapered extension inthe top of the fire extinguisher) is directed at the flame and at the same time the handle of the valve of the locking mechanism is pressed.
If you have to put out a fire in an open area, then it is important to pay attention to which side the wind is blowing. In order not to inflate the flame even more, extinguishing is carried out only from the windward side.
It is also worth paying attention to the fact that during the operation of the device, its temperature may drop to 60-70 degrees Celsius. This is due to the release of OTC and a sharp decrease in pressure in the unit.
Also, be careful as electrostatic stress can build up on the flare surface. Its concentration is such that it can penetrate a dielectric glove.
When extinguishing a fire in places connected with electricity, it is not allowed to bring the socket to the flame closer than 1 meter.
Operating Rules
Usually, the warranty period is specified in the technical characteristics of the OU-2 fire extinguisher. It is 24 months from the date of acceptance of the QCD. This period also includes the storage period of the unit.
Portable fire extinguishers should not be placed near heating elements. You also need to make sure that the sun's rays do not fall on it. In general, the fire extinguisher must not be exposed to heat or other mechanical stress that could damage its integrity.
