STD-120M is a wood lathe designed for processing small-sized elements from different types of wood. The unit has advantageous features that distinguish it from its predecessor, consisting in the fact that critical working areas are protected by a fence and equipped with local lighting. In addition, the main electrical circuit has been modernized, a system for reducing vibration and noise levels has been provided, and an installation for removing dust and chips by mechanization has been developed.

The STD-120M school turning machine is used for light woodworking through central interaction, using a faceplate and a chuck, as well as for elementary drilling. Its functionality includes the following:

Rear element
This part of the STD-120M machine provides support when servicing long products, as well as fixing the chuck, drills directly and other tools. The rear element of the device consists of a frame and a quill sliding along the guide grooves of the body.
From one side of the movable sleeve there is a hole adjusted to the cone, where the back stop, chuck or drill with the corresponding end switch is placed. From the opposite side, a bushing having an internal thread is inserted by pressing. The set screw allows easy movement of the quill and prevents it from rotating around its own axis.
The torque redistribution element is combined with a threaded bushing, on one end of which a flywheel is installed, fixed with a nut. The quill is fastened in the required position with a clamping handle. The tailstock is fixed with a nut, a cracker (washer) and a bolt. Special holes are provided in the body for lubrication of working elements.
