The modern water supply system, especially when it comes to apartment buildings, is far from always able to provide the necessary stable water pressure. In this case, small in size, but multifunctional water pumps that are integrated into the system and a water pressure switch, due to which the pump is periodically turned on and off, will come to the rescue.
The principle of operation of almost all water pressure switches is quite simple. The liquid entering the tank acts on the valve or membrane. This pushes them to the required distance. When the pressure drops below the set threshold, the relay is activated and the pump starts to function, building up pressure to the upper set threshold. As soon as the pressure reaches this level, the water pressure switch trips again and turns off the running pump. The upper threshold at which the water pressure switch will operate can be easily adjustedyourself.
The pressure switch is adjusted using special washers and nuts, both in the direction of increasing and decreasing pressure. It all depends on what indicator is needed for a stable water pressure in the tap. The water pressure switch is installed on the body of the accumulator, and the best option would be to simultaneously install a pressure gauge, which will allow you to control the entire workflow and correctly make all the necessary settings.
Given that the water pressure switch has a fairly simple principle of operation, it rarely fails for technical reasons. However, despite the simplicity of work, its quality must meet established standards. Otherwise, if it fails, this can lead to a breakdown of the accumulator or a pipe break, but as the worst option, the motor will simply burn out. One of the weakest points of the pressure switch is the valve or membrane. Therefore, the first thing to do in case of failure is to check the state of these elements of the device.
Adjustment, as mentioned above, can be done independently. The main one is carried out with the help of two screws, one of which is responsible for the operation of the device between on-off periods, and the other only for the moment the relay is activated. All adjustment work is carried out only in accordance with the pressure gauge data. Greater precision is achieved in half-turn increments or one turn of the screws. Often, even after adjustment, the desired pressure is reachedfails. If this happens, then the cause must already be sought in the pump. Sometimes this may be due to the technical capabilities of the relay itself, its operating range. Then you can either modify the device yourself, or change it to a more advanced model.
The pressure switch must be connected strictly according to the attached diagram. First, the ground terminals are connected, then the mains connection, and then the motor connection terminals. With the right connection and settings made, you can forget about the water supply system for a long time.
