Some 20-30 years ago in the gardens of our grandmothers and mothers in the spring only lilacs gave joy and were fragrant, and by the end of summer dahlias, gladioli and asters bloomed.
Today, each of us can turn our garden into continuous flowering, and using only beautifully flowering shrubs (photo below). This is especially true for those who simply do not have time to mess around in the flower beds every day. Therefore, when selecting plants, pay attention to the flowering period and tolerance to harsh winters. Having picked up beautifully flowering shrubs, replacing each other with a riot of colors, you can forget about the constant, painstaking care of them.
Forsythia can give you early flowering in spring. Its yellow, beautiful flowers bloom before the leaves appear. The following types of forsythia are winter-hardy: intermediate, ovoid, drooping. These flowering shrubs can grow up to 4 meters.in height. They thrive in full sun as well as partial shade. Pests and diseases practically do not affect this plant. As soon as the shrub fades, it should be cut, giving the necessary shape to the crown.
Then hawthorn, spirea, lilac or viburnum can continue flowering. Moreover, hawthorn and viburnum will allow you to admire not only beautiful flowering, but also bright, juicy berries. You can buy absolutely any variety of lilac, each of them feels great in our climate zone.
Spirea represents the most unpretentious, ornamental flowering shrubs. In spring it is an avalanche of snow-white inflorescences, and in summer it is a green plant with a neatly trimmed crown.
All the plants listed above could always be found in our climate zone. But the fact that today there is an opportunity to boldly plant a rhododendron is incredibly pleasing. Once you see this flowering plant, you will never want to part with it, it is such an impressive sight.
Beautifully flowering rhododendron shrubs come in a wide variety of colors, ranging from pale white to the brightest colors. In our natural conditions, the following rhododendrons can be planted: "yellow", "Daurian", "Kamchatka", "Western", "Japanese", "Fori" and "Katevbinsky".
For summer blooms, you can plant shrub Potentilla. It's profuse pink, yellow, or whiteflowering lasts at least three months. And if you plant a mock orange, then the whole of June you will remember the aroma of ripe berries. This is exactly what some varieties of this plant smell like.
And, without a doubt, not a single site can do without a rose - the queen of our flower beds. You can also add bright crimson colors by planting a buddle. And if you like weigela, then not only raspberry shades will appear in your garden, but also purple, white and even purple-red. Even the wettest parts of your garden have their plants. You can put hydrangeas there, whose huge hats will delight you almost until frost.
I would also like to mention tree-like peonies - another beautifully flowering shrubs. For the Moscow region, the best time for their landing falls on the period from mid-August to the end of September. They like sunny, wind-sheltered places with good water drainage. They are calm about penumbra, but next to large trees it is better not to plant them. In China, these plants are called "emperors of flowers", as they are beautiful not only with delicious, large and fragrant flowers, but also with carved, large leaves.
