Plastic air ducts appeared in operation not so long ago. This material is plastic and inexpensive. They may well replace metal structures. In addition, they have a number of advantages over them. In addition, they are resistant to corrosion, they can be installed in a room with high humidity. The plastic air duct does not emit harmful substances and is not hazardous to human he alth. It is often used to make ventilation in buildings with a large number of people. Plastic air ducts make ventilation more silent and intensive due to their smooth surface. To prevent dust from collecting on them, they are treated with an antistatic compound. And the transportation of such structures is more convenient. But these air ducts have their drawbacks. And, perhaps, the main one is the flammability of plastic.
Rectangular structures
Plastic rectangular air ducts are especially often used in industrial and residential premises. They are easier to install as their shape makes them easy to attach to ceilings and walls or rest on other surfaces. They are especially indispensable for mounting in difficult conditions or when the cross-sectional area is too large. Structures of this form are especially convenient when they are mounted under suspended ceilings. There are such rectangular air ducts, in which the height is four times less than the width. Such structures are called flat. They are assembled by hand. Their disadvantage is that they are considered noisier and more resistant to air flow. These designs sometimes require the purchase of additional equipment (e.g. fans, silencers).
Polypropylene ventilation
Proper ventilation in the house is one of the main factors for comfortable living. A bad system will quickly make itself felt by increased humidity, odors, and a touch of grease in the kitchen. In residential premises, the ventilation system made by plastic air ducts will be very good. For these purposes, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, PVC, silicone and a number of other synthetic materials are used. Ventilationstructures made of polypropylene are waterproof, wear-resistant, resistant to aggressive chemical environments, to ultraviolet radiation. They have a service life of 50 years. Withstands temperature range from -40 to +85°С. But for the kitchen, PVC plastic air ducts are better suited. PVC is a very versatile material and has the best properties of plastic. It is distinguished from other materials by a long service life - up to 100 years, and high hygiene.
