Flower story
Farah Diba was of Azerbaijani origin. The story of the Farah rose began in 1973. Contrary to the prohibitions of Georges Delbard, one of the best breeders in France, the flower was imprudently entered in the competition by William Lavarky, an employee of Delbard. Rose Vivre received the prize.
The ceremony at the competition was presided over by the president of the Children's Foundation, Farah Pahlavi.
In 1974 Shahin Farah was on a visit to France. The woman wished to meet with Georges Delbar, who came to the reception at the Grand Trianon Palace with a whole basket of roses. An unexpected continuation
The story had a fabulous continuation. Henri Delbar (the son of a breeder), accidentally finding himself in a Parisian florist's shop, met Shahin Farah there. The woman caught his attention with her unusual voice. Henri introduced himself to the woman. After finding out who she was, he invited her to visit her father in Milicorn.
The Empress did not refuse the visit, during which it was proposed to name one of the varieties of roses, which had rare virtues, her name.
In those days, there were rumors among amateur gardeners that Delbard had released a series called "Shah's Roses", although no one knew the true name. The flowers that were included in it were distinguished by their large size and unique aroma. No one knew the names of the varieties, but the series was associated with the name Imperatrice Farah. Variety description
A distinctive feature of the flower is its non-standard color, with a transition from white to bright red. The buds are large, their shape resembles a glass.
