Many people have heard the name "block house", but not everyone knows what kind of material it is.
Today it is most often used for cladding outdoor and indoor spaces. Installation of the block house does not cause difficulties in work, because it has grooves with which it is easy to assemble. Often country houses and baths are finished with this material.
Its popularity is that it is easy to assemble and has features that are not found among its counterparts. The first thing to say is that the block house has ventilation slots that are located on its inside. Good ventilation allows you to maintain the integrity of the structure for many years. There are several types of block house in production:
- Vinyl.
- Wooden.
- Metal.
- Plastic.
The variety of types allows the consumer to choose a specific block house for their needs. The installation of each of the types is almost the same, with the exception of some little things. Moreover, they do not have the sameproperties, because different raw materials are used in the manufacture.

When there is a need to clad the outer walls, the installation of a block house is often performed from wood species, preferably larch or pine. The width of the board is chosen from 100 mm, but it would be unwise to use boards that are too wide. The best option for a pleasant appearance is 120-150 mm. The length of the board is selected as needed, but the most used board length is 4-6 meters.
Give the opportunity to settle the purchased material in the place where it is planned to install the block house. The material must get used to such an atmosphere. To work with the material during the installation process, you will need the following:
- Vapor barrier.
- Moisture protection.
- Fasteners (bolts and self-tapping screws).
- Crate.
- Heat insulation.
- Second crate.
After selecting the necessary tools and materials, you can install the block house. At the initial stage, the walls are covered with vapor barrier sheets. This helps a special film or glassine. Insulation material begins to strengthen
on top of the wall, aluminum tape is used as fasteners.
Insulation will not be needed if the installation is carried out on walls that are not exposed to moisture. Next, a crate of dried timber is strengthened on the vapor barrier. The thickness of the timber, as a rule, corresponds to the thickness of the insulation material. When the crate is ready, insulation sheets are installed between the bars. They fix it with special nails, which have a large round hat.
Next, the insulation is covered with a protective film to prevent moisture from entering. The film is fixed on both sides with adhesive tape, and fastened to the insulation with brackets. We figured out the heat-insulating materials, now we need to strengthen the second crate, on which the block house itself will be mounted.
The assembly process is easy. The design can be assembled both from below and from above. Make sure the tongue is always up. It is also necessary to leave gaps from the bottom and top edges of the panel of 50 mm for ventilation. After the assembly is completed, it will be possible to prime or varnish the surface for protection. Wooden blockhouse is more popular than vinyl blockhouse in Russia. Most likely, this is due to climatic conditions, and in general, a tree that is well processed creates a harmonious atmosphere, which is good for he alth.
