As soon as warm days come, summer residents immediately begin to gather in their plots. It's time for worries. In this bustle, you can feel the charm of awakening nature, breathe clean air, which is devoid of burning and city smog. We devote a whole week to work, and trips to the country should also be a pleasure.

A field trip is usually accompanied by traditional kebabs. Why not build a brick barbecue on the site?

Choosing a seat

The appearance of the building and its size may depend on the place where it will be located. The ground must be level. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the wind rose so that the smoke does not interfere with the neighbors and does not fall into the recreation area, and also does not choke the cook. The site should be close to home, because this way you can provide it with light and water, and you won’t have to carry dishes and food far away.

Preparation of materials

Before folding the stationary barbecue, you must prepare certain materials, among them should be highlighted:

  • cement;
  • reinforcing bars;
  • metal corners;
  • slaked lime;
  • wire;
  • heat resistant brick.

Rods can be replaced with reinforcing mesh. But the wire will be needed to fix the brickwork. In the place where the brick will not be heated, heat-resistant expensive products can be replaced with ordinary red ones. To form the brazier, you will need a metal pallet. You should also take care of the presence of a lattice. Don't forget about the tile you'll be using as your countertop.

Working on the foundation

A brick brazier will weigh quite a lot, so it will require a foundation device. It is an erroneous opinion that it is good enough to compact the soil and cover it with rubble, laying out paving slabs. Any movement of the soil in this case can cause the destruction of the structure. The time, materials and effort spent will be a pity, so you need to pour a reliable foundation.

The functional foundation will measure 120 x 120 cm. The site prepared for construction must be marked out with twine and pegs. Next, a hole of the indicated dimensions is dug, which must be deepened by 25 cm. Formwork is installed inside, and then the solution is poured. It is prepared at the rate of three parts of sand to one part of cement.

Stationary brazier should be strong, which largely depends on the reliability of the foundation that needs to be reinforced. To do this, you can use a reinforcing mesh or reinforcing bars. If you choose the first option, then the laying of the material should be done twice. First, the solution is poured a third of the height of the base, after which a mesh layer is located, and then another third is poured.

The next layer will be the mesh again, after that the base is filled to full size. If inside it is possible to place the rods, they are laid after pouring 1/2 of the base. The rods should be evenly spread out, their length should be 100 cm. After that, the rest of the volume is filled. In order for rainwater to flow freely from the walls of the structure, you can make a platform with a certain slope of 1 cm. The foundation for a stationary barbecue is left for the mortar to harden for 2 weeks.

First row

If you want to do the work neatly and quickly, you need to try on. A number of bricks are laid on the finished foundation for this, it is not necessary to use a mortar. Such preparation will allow the use of whole blocks and their halves. If the tray and grate were prepared in advance, their dimensions must be taken into account. The masonry line is bypassed and fixed. These works will provide orientation.

Stationary brazier is usually laid out of brick, which is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture well. If it is not prepared, it will absorbwater from solution. The building will end up being fragile. In order to avoid this, the brick is placed in water during the day. Before starting work, the products must be wet on the inside and dried on the outside.

The finished solution is prepared at the rate of 3 parts of sand, 1 part of cement and a quarter of slaked lime. The consistency of the mixture should resemble thick sour cream. Next, the brick is laid on the mortar in the intended order. A space is left between the products, which is filled with masonry composition. In order to imbed the blocks in the solution, they are knocked out from above with a hammer or a trowel handle.

Working on the plinth

Stationary brazier for giving in this example will have a plinth. Each subsequent row is shifted relative to the previous one by half a brick. It is necessary to start work from the corner, after which you can proceed to filling the side walls. Planes need to be checked with a building level and a plumb line. This is done every three rows.

Masonry is reinforced at corner joints with wire. If you don't plan on trimming the brazier, you can use a piece of garden hose to give the seams a neat look.

Working on the brazier and grate supports

Stationary country barbecue will have a brazier. For the base under it, reinforcing bars or metal corners are located between opposite walls. The base of the firebox is laid out on them. In this case, this function will be played by a metal pallet. The main condition is thatthe firebox was easy to clean. In this area, gaps in the masonry are left unfilled with mortar. This will ensure air flow. Without its influx, the combustion process will be impossible.

The grille is installed on metal rods, which are mounted in the wall. You can use the protrusions of brickwork for these purposes. They are formed if the bricks are placed across the wall. They should protrude into the brazier.

Building

Stationary barbecue grill can also be made of bricks. For this, a pit is prepared with a depth of 60 cm. Its dimensions should be equal to 80 x 160 cm. 10 cm of sand is poured into the bottom. Given the size of the pit, you must build the formwork and reinforce it. The mesh is folded in half. Next, pour the concrete mixture. Once everything is dry, waterproofing can be carried out by folding the film in 6 layers. This surface is ready for bricklaying.

When you complete the 6th row, make an overlap of two rows of bricks, then you can continue laying three rows in height. The last three rows will be a place for frying kebabs. If you cover the fire with a metal grate from above, then you can turn the brazier into a barbecue. It is important to take care of small gaps that will ensure air flow. To improve traction, you can install a pipe. After the completion of all work, the walls are plastered from the outside.

Laying a brazier with a stove

A stationary brazier with an oven under a cauldron must also have a foundation. The base after its laying and drying is waterproofed with building roofing felt or two layers of roofing material. Each layer is glued with mastic or hot resin. The edges should be brought to the side surfaces by 10 cm. Asbestos or felt is laid on the waterproofing. Two rows should be laid out with solid masonry, from the third one should begin to form a place for the stove.

Excess mortar protruding from the seams must be removed in a timely manner. The next part of the work is the installation of the blower door. Finished products can be purchased at a hardware store. You can weld the metal frame and door yourself. But the metal will increase in size when exposed to temperatures. In order to avoid problems, a gap must be made between the structure and the brick. It is filled with asbestos cord. When laying, it is necessary to provide places for hot air to enter the brazier. A couple of bricks high will suffice.

The arched jumper will play the function of a decorative element that distributes the load from the top. This knot also increases the strength of the brazier. The jumper is made in the form of a brick row laid in an arc. All bricks must be wedge-shaped. You can purchase finished products or cut them yourself.

Metal brazier production

Stationary brazier made of metal usually takes up less space than its brick counterpart. The dimensions of this design can be selected individually. At the first stage, it is necessary to mark the boundaries of the bottom and walls of the product. The sheet is cut along the lines, and perforationsthe holes in it are drilled.

Chamfers must be cut on the upper edges of the long walls. The parts are joined together by welding. The legs should be pointed at the bottom, the angle is cut off with a grinder. Racks should be welded to the box.

Barbecue under a canopy

Stationary brazier with a canopy will allow you to continue cooking, even if the weather is bad. If fire safety rules are taken into account, then the structure with an open fire should be 6 m away from the house. When taking into account the comfort component, it is important to take into account that the shed is built in a place where you can quickly and easily deliver water, food and dishes.

Even a compact canopy needs a foundation. To create it from 4 sides, it is necessary to prepare pits. Their cavities are laid out in one and a half bricks, reinforcement and installation of supports are carried out. The pillars are filled with concrete. The foundation is poured using formwork. She is subsequently removed.

A metal or asbestos pipe is installed on a crushed stone pillow, then concrete is poured. The design should dry well, it will take about 2 weeks. Next, you can do the formation of the frame, for example, from wood, metal or brick. At the next stage, the crossbars are attached to the top of the racks, which will become the basis for the rafters. Boards are fixed to the crossbars, the distance between which should be no more than a meter. The rafters are sheathed with a crate, where the selected roofing material is laid.
