For gift wrapping, there are special shops and departments where professionals in their field will beautifully decorate any present. But a faceless wrapper does not express the full range of feelings that the giver would like to convey, moreover, very often it is simply thrown away and not kept as a memory. Instead of standard packaging, we offer to create an unusual, original, conveying a warm attitude. Next, we will show you how to make a heart box suitable for a gift for Valentine's Day, March 8, birthday or any holiday.
Options for creating a heart box
Perhaps, it may seem to someone that this type of packaging is very difficult to create with your own hands, but it is not. Anyone without prior preparation can make a "heart" using paper, cardboard, glue and decorative elements. Due to the fact that a beginner needleworker will not immediately master wood cutting, melting metals, we will not consider these materials asinitial. The easiest and fastest way to assemble a heart-shaped box is from paper: it can be an origami technique, cutting according to a template and assembling, self-calculation of the desired dimensions, creating patterns and gluing elements. You can design and decorate ready-made packages with ribbons, embroidery, knitted patterns, add colorful inscriptions.
How to make a cardboard heart box
Here's what you need to create colorful, unique packaging:
- white paper (office paper will do);
- thick cardboard (box details);
- pencil;
- ruler;
- scissors;
- compass;
- sheet of thick paper (cardstock);
- sheet of paper with a pattern (you can take the packaging);
- glue;
- decorative elements;
- Distressed ink is used for a vintage feel.
Steps in creating a heart-shaped package
Depending on the size of the gift, the size of the box is selected. To make the heart even and symmetrical, you should take a compass and draw two slightly intersecting circles on a sheet of office paper. Lower the strip down through the intersection points, for example, if the radius of the circles is 4 cm, then the length of this line will be 12 cm. Draw straight lines from the side roundings to it - you will get the main blank that needs to be cut. Put the template on a blank sheet of white paper and circle it with a pencil. Inside the drawing, departing from the edges by 3 mm, mark the outline of a slightly smaller heart and cut a second blank along it. In the same waymake a third template, 5 mm smaller than the previous one. In order not to get confused in them (after all, they are similar in size), it is recommended to number the bases. Then the contour of the blanks is transferred to thick paper (cardstock), two parts of size 1 are cut out - this will be the basis of the package. On colored or wrapping paper, draw two large contours, one small and one medium. Cut bright blanks and proceed to the gluing stage.
Assembly and connection of parts
How to make a heart-shaped box from these cut out elements? Two blanks of thick cardstock are glued together with two pieces of wrapping paper. On one of them, on the one-color side, the contour of the smallest heart is circled in pencil, and on the other, the middle one. Side parts will be glued along these lines, for which 4 rectangles are cut out, 2 larger and 2 smaller. For the stated dimensions of the heart, details of 21 x 3 and 22 x 3.5 cm are suitable. On the narrow side of each rectangle, you need to add 1 cm, and on the wide side - a strip of 5 mm for gluing parts. Cut zigzag teeth along the long strip for fastening. Lubricate these triangles with glue and attach to the base: longer ones along the contour of the workpiece 2, shorter - according to No. 3. Cut out rectangles from colored wrapping paper equal in size to the sidewalls and glue them to the inside and outside sides of the box. Attach a heart from a decorative wrapper, cut along the contour of template 2, to the inside of the lid, and the smallest one on the base of the box. The main part of the work is completed, and the box-heartmade by hand. You can proceed to the stage of decoration.
Finished packaging design
A heart-shaped box made of paper looks very nice, the edges of which are trimmed with ribbon, inlay, matching the color. As for decorating the top of the box, there are no restrictions on the imagination of the giver: you can stick multi-colored hearts, paper flowers, reinforce bows, apply inscriptions, drawings, or simply tie them with a satin ribbon. There are a huge number of options for tying simple and lush bows with different web widths and volumes. Experienced needlewomen can decorate the lid with bead or thread embroidery, knitted details or decoupage elements. In any case, a handmade heart box will be the best decoration for any gift.
Other paper packaging options
How to make a heart-box if there is no time for all the above steps or a small gift, and a small package is suitable for it? We suggest using the attached template. It is enough to apply it on a sheet of wrapping paper and cut along the contour. Cardboard, such as cereal or cereal boxes, can be used to seal the walls. The cut blank remains only to be bent along the dash lines and connected. If desired, reinforce the contact points with glue. If white paper was used as the material for such packaging, it's time to color it: apply drawings, patterns or stick ribbons. In such a sweeta heart-shaped box is convenient to present a small nice gift.
More experienced crafters can use the origami technique and assemble a heart-shaped box from a sheet of paper without a single cut and glue. Also, some people make a transparent recess in the lid of the package, through which the whole gift or its decorated part is immediately visible. To do this, it is enough to make a cutout in the shape of a heart in the center of the lid, and on the inside stick a thin transparent (or to match the box) plastic on the adhesive tape. Let the gifts please those to whom they are addressed, and now you know how to make a heart-shaped box for packing a meaningful present.
