The last decades have shown that the development of modern technologies does not stop for a second. Many new coatings are being developed, technologies are being improved, builders' capabilities and customer needs are expanding.
The main component for modern developments has become an artificial material - polyurethane. It has found wide application, but most often it can be found as a replacement for natural rubber and rubber. However, the unique properties of polyurethane allow it to replace plastic and even metal.
However, now we will talk about such a product as polyurethane paint. Such a material has quite specific characteristics, has a low cost, and also successfully resists mechanical damage and deformation, withstands a wide temperature range and has a fairly long service life.
Polyurethane paint is also characterized by a high degree of resistance to the damaging effects of alkalis and acids, various oils, and gasoline. Such paint coatings are usually divided into two groups: one-component and two-component.
As the name implies, the main difference between these two categories is the number of components. One-component paint is a flexible rubber-like paint coating that resembles conventional paint. Such a connection is immediately sold ready for use, which means that no additional measures are required for its preparation, which significantly reduces the duration of repair work.
At the same time, the pair of components that make up the polyurethane paint - the hardener and resin-containing structures - are in different containers. They must be combined in special proportions. However, this technology has many positive features:
1. When coating is applied, the process of solidification or polymerization of the composition occurs. It successfully proceeds without the participation of moisture, which means that such a reaction allows you to ignore weather factors such as snow, rain, fog.
2. Ease of obtaining the required amount of paint material. The ability to dilute only the required amount of paint can significantly reduce its consumption, and therefore save on the purchase of materials. However, polyurethane paint is poorly stored in a diluted state for a long time. Even under certain conditions.
3. The result of use is a durable and long-lasting coating. In this regard, a two-component coating has a significant advantage over the usual one-component.
Consequently, polyurethane paint allows you to get an elastic wear-resistant coating that is sufficiently resistant to mechanical damage and chemical compounds, and also successfully resists ultraviolet radiation. Such a coating has become widespread due to the versatility of use: both external and internal application is possible.
